Tongits is more than a card game – it's a Filipino tradition. 213 NicePH brings it online with real cash prizes, daily tournaments, and thousands of active players across the country. Mag-laro na tayo, Kabayan!
If you grew up in the Philippines, there's a good chance you learned Tongits from a lola, a tito, or a barkada during a long barrio fiesta afternoon. It's one of those games that's been passed down through generations without anyone really needing to explain the rules – you just watch a few rounds and suddenly you're in the game, sorting your cards and figuring out how to knock everyone out.
Tongits is a three-player rummy-style card game using a standard 52-card deck. The goal is simple: get rid of all your cards by forming valid sets and runs, then either declare "Tongits" (play out your entire hand) or end the game with the lowest point count when the draw pile runs out. It sounds easy, but the strategy involved – knowing when to draw, when to dump cards, and when to call a challenge – is what keeps players coming back game after game.

If you're new to Tongits, here's everything you need to know to jump in. If you're already familiar, you can skip straight to the tables at 213 NicePH.
Tongits is played with 3 players. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two players each get 12. The remaining cards form the draw pile in the centre.
Group your cards into valid combinations: a Set (3 or 4 cards of the same rank, e.g. three Kings) or a Run (3+ consecutive cards of the same suit, e.g. 5-6-7 of Spades).
On your turn, draw from the pile or take the top discard. Then either lay down a meld, add to an existing meld on the table, or discard a card to end your turn.
You win by playing your last card (Tongits!) or by having the lowest total point value of unmelded cards when the draw pile runs out. High cards (10, J, Q, K) carry heavy penalty points.
Any player can call a "Fight" or "Sagot" to challenge when someone is close to winning. If you can't defend your hand, the challenger wins. Timing this correctly is a key skill.
| Card | Point Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Ace (A) | 1 point | Lowest value card |
| 2 – 9 | Face value | E.g., 7 = 7 points |
| 10 | 10 points | Heavy penalty if unmelded |
| Jack (J) | 10 points | Heavy penalty if unmelded |
| Queen (Q) | 10 points | Heavy penalty if unmelded |
| King (K) | 10 points | Discard early if possible |
Get rid of your 10-point cards (10, J, Q, K) as early as possible. Holding them unmelded at the end of a round is the most common reason players lose. Build your melds around low-value cards first and use your high cards in complete sets only.
213 NicePH runs daily, weekly, and seasonal Tongits tournaments that any registered player can join. Whether you're a casual player looking to turn a ₱50 buy-in into a ₱5,000 prize, or a seasoned card shark gunning for the weekly grand prize, there's always a tournament running on 213 NicePH.
Whether you're a weekend warrior or someone who plays Tongits every day, these strategies will help you consistently make better decisions at the table on 213 NicePH.
Kings, Queens, Jacks, and 10s are worth 10 points each. If you can't meld them quickly, discard them in the early rounds before the pile runs low and the game ends suddenly.
Pay attention to what other players are throwing away. If two Kings have been discarded, the third King becomes less useful – don't wait to complete a set that likely can't be completed.
Calling "Sagot" (Challenge) at the right moment can steal a win. If your point count is low and an opponent is about to go out, calling the challenge when you're already below 10 points is often the right move.
Don't lock yourself into one meld plan too early. Keep flexible sets of cards that can work in multiple combinations until you're closer to a clear winning path.
Cards that can never complete your melds because key cards have been discarded are "dead weight." Identify and discard these quickly to reduce your potential penalty score.

Lagi akong naglalaro dito, Kabayan, try ninyo!"
"I've played Tongits on a few different apps and 213 NicePH is honestly the most stable one I've found. No disconnections in the middle of a hand, the random cards feel genuinely fair, and the stake levels are good – from small casual games to serious tables. Withdrawal was fast too, BPI in about an hour."
There's something special about Tongits that sets it apart from other card games. It's deeply woven into Filipino culture in a way that's hard to explain to someone who didn't grow up here. It's the game you played during power outages when there was nothing else to do. It's the reason family reunions last past midnight. It's the card game where you'd always get side-eyed if you drew too slowly or thought too long about a discard.
213 NicePH has taken that tradition and brought it into the digital age without losing what makes it special. Our Tongits tables have an energy that feels familiar – the quick pace, the occasional trash talk (tasteful, of course), and the genuine tension when someone looks like they're about to go out and you're still holding three Kings.
With over 50,000 players joining Tongits tables on 213 NicePH every day, the community is one of the most active in the Philippine online gaming space. Whether you're from Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, or a smaller province, you'll always find a table with players close to your skill level and available within seconds. The barkada has gone online – and it's bigger than ever.
